Chai Tea

There are many recipes for this ancient spiced brew. Here is one on the Host's Restaurant favorites. The following ingredients serves 6.


Ingredients:

14 cardamom pods
4 1/2 cups water
1 1/2 cups milk
3 (3-inch) sticks of cinnamon, broken into pieces
6 whole cloves
2 tablespoons black tea leaves
Sugar to sweeten as desired

Chai Tea

Methods:

Crush cardamom pods to expose the seeds. On high heat put all the following ingredients in a saucepan - water, milk, cardamom, cinnamon and cloves and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and then simmer for 5 more minutes. Stir occasionally. Add tea leaves and remove from heat. Cover and let steep for 5 more minutes. Strain and serve hot. Sweeten with sugar if desired.
