Traditional Thanksgiving Stuffing

Ingredients:

3/4 cup butter
1 1/2 cups diced cooking onion
1 1/2 cups diced celery
1 1/2 cups green pepper
1 pinch of dried thyme
1 pinch of dried basil
1 pinch of ground oregano
2 tsp sage
salt and pepper to taste
2 tbsp fresh parsley
1 cup turkey stock (chicken broth can be used as a substitute)
2 loafs of day old white bread (crust removed, cubed)
bread crumbs (if you would like a drier stuffing)

Methods:

Preheat a large sauce pan on medium heat and add butter. Add the celery, onions and green pepper and saute until cooked. Add all the seasoning. Stir in the turkey stock and cook for five minutes. Remove from heat and mix with the bread in a large mixing bowl. If you prefer drier stuffing you can add breadcrumbs. Put the stuffing mixture into a large baking dish and place in a preheated oven at 350°F. Cook for about 25-30 minutes or until the internal temperature is 165°F.
