Taste of Life celebrates the holiday season with a very special visit to Niagara on the Lake, which has been affectionately called, "the prettiest town in the world". After visiting the specialty jams and jellies manufacturer, Greaves Jams & Marmalades, we visit the restaurant accredited with the development of 'Niagara Cuisine': On-the-Twenty. It is here that Executive Chef Michael Olson prepares a very special holiday dish: a wild mushroom and goat cheese strudel with a sweet-pepper sauce.

Taste of Life's fine dining choice is ON THE TWENTY, a restaurant at the fore front of what is being celebrated as Niagara Cuisine. GREAVES

The "Niagara Fruit Bell" is where you will find some of Canada's richest soils. This week's specialty product manufacturer is GREAVES, a company producing old fashioned and pure jams, jellies and marmalades from the original recipes developed by William and Mabel Greaves over 70 years ago. Greaves' production facilities are located in the heart of this fertile land and much of the fine, fresh fruits and vegetables used in Greaves products are grown right in their own town by neighboring farms. Each batch starts with the finest fruits and sugar and is carefully hand-stirred in open stainless steel kettles. Pectin, preservatives or additives are never added. Instead, they rely solely on the fruits' natural pectin to set the product, and sugar, a natural preservative, gives the jam an indefinite shelf life. Watch out for Taste of Life's extensive specialty food hall showcasing Greaves products in January.
